Colored pencils are made by mixing pigments or dyes with wax and other powders.

Even if water is used to wet the paper written by the color pencil, the color will not melt away. That is, it won't bleed. In this regard, it is different from writing ink made of water-soluble dyes.

For example, if you drop water on a paper written in red ink, the paper will be red. This is because the main component of red ink, dye (not pigment), is dissolved in water. If you bake the colored pencil before writing, the color of the pencil will become darker. This is because the wax in the raw material of the color pencil has been roasted.
